Celebrate and remember a loved one and at the same time, help those who come to us in need!
Making a tribute gift to celebrate in memory of or in honor of a loved one in your life is a special way to support the mission of Catholic Charities and our programs.
In Memory of Gifts memorialize someone special who has passed away.
Honorary Gifts show appreciation to important people in your life and are often given on special occasions, such as a birthday, graduation, anniversary, or special holidays such as Mother's Day and Father's Day.
For both in memory of and in honor of gifts, a letter is sent to the donor to acknowledge the gift and gift amount. Another letter is sent to any person whom the donor indicates should receive an acknowledgement, however the gift amount is not revealed.
If you choose to mail your memorial/honorary gift, please be sure to include a note indicating the name of the person you are honoring or memorializing, as well as, the name and address of anyone who should receive an acknowledgement.

Make a donation and help double the impact!
What is a matching gift?
Matching gift programs are charitable giving programs set up by corporations in which the company matches donations made by employees to eligible nonprofit organizations. For example, if a donor works for Bank of America and donates $250 to Catholic Charities, a 501(c)(3) organization, Bank of America will "double the donation" by writing a check for $250 to Catholic Charities. The gift is doubled!
How do I know if my company matches gifts?
Thousands of companies match employee gifts to charitable organizations like Catholic Charities. Many also match gifts made by spouses or retirees. To see if your company matches gifts, call your Human Resources department, or contact Vicky Bauerle (859)581-8974 Ext. 116.
How do I request a matching gift?
Request a Matching Gift Form from your employer’s Human Resources department (often available online). Complete the form and send to Catholic Charities. We will work directly with your employer to collect the matching gift check. Some companies will even double the amount of your gift.
What type of information do I have to provide to my employer?
A typical form asks for your name, social security number, company division or location, and charitable organization name, date and amount of your gift.
Where do I start?
Find out whether your gift to Catholic Charities is eligible for a company match. Contact Human Resources at your company, or contact Vicky Bauerle (859)581-8974 Ext. 116.

Help us to extend a hand and change a life for many more years to come!
There are many ways to support our mission, but when you plan a gift as part of your overall estate and financial plans, you help ensure that Catholic Charities will be here tomorrow to continue to provide resources to serve anyone who walks through our doors.
Planned Gifts through the advice of professional counsel offer various strategies that can help you save on taxes or increase your income. They offer opportunities to provide for yourself and /or your family while allowing you to support the mission and programs of Catholic Charities that embodies your values, and represents what’s most important to you, now and in the future.
Naming the individuals and charities that will receive your assets once you are gone can be a simple process. Most assets can pass to your intended beneficiaries as a bequest by the terms of your will. Bequests can take several forms such as:
- Specific bequest - a certain amount of cash, securities, or property.
- General bequest - property that is similar to all other items distributed, usually cash.
- Percentage bequest - a stated percentage of the donor's estate.
- Residual bequest - all or a portion of what remains of the estate after specific and general bequests are distributed.
Other assets, such as retirement plans, life insurance and insurance annuities, however, are not controlled by the terms of your will. These assets instead require separate beneficiary forms.
The beneficiaries of these assets can be easily modified at any time to meet your changing needs:
- IRAs and retirement plans
- Life insurance policies
- Insurance annuities
If you have questions about naming Catholic Charities as beneficiary of any of these assets, please contact Vicky Bauerle (859)581-8974 Ext. 116.
Thank you for supporting our mission even after your lifetime.
